A bit about Skokie
Skokie is the character who started Skokie N Friends! About eight years ago, I created Skokie . First the colours where black, red,blue, and grey. Now they are more natural. Skokie would have to be my inspiration. Skokie does not have a gender because I couldn't simply come up with one for Skokie. Skokie is just Skokie. To a lot of people this seems fictional, or stupid, but to be honest could you see Skokie a boy? Could you see Skokie as a girl? Below is Skokie's story;

The Story
It was a cold snowy night when Skokie was delivered. There were eight pups in the litter and Skokie was the second to last, along with Animate to be born. Skokie was very small when it was born. Skokie's father was a mostly wolf crossed with husky who roamed the land as a stay dog with a pack. Skokie's mother on the other hand was a hard working sled dog who worked with a man far North who drove his team far too hard, and only worked with prized sled dogs. When the litter was found about a month later he simply bagged Skokie and Animate, because of their wolfish look and dropped them by the shelter. Well, that night the shelter was closed, and there was a frigged blizzard outside. Skokie helped Animate nuzzle their ways out of the sack in which they were put, and found their way into a place underneath the building where it was somewhat warm. From there Skokie build a nest next to the water heater for it and Animate. They stayed warm together. As they grew, they took things from the garbage and grew a nice den underneath the shelter, until the day it all changed.
When the men came it was the day from all evil. They never though this would come. Thick boards blocked their usual way out, causing them to be stuck underneath the shelter floor boards. Now, at about eight weeks old, they tried their best to chew their way out of the foundation. Finally Animate was able to free herself. Skokie couldn't get it's head through, and the surrounding employees would soon see a dog, no a wolf like dog with it's head out. When the noises grew louder, Animate stood by her siblings side, afraid of what might happen. Skokie snarled and spat for Animate to run and hide, but Animate wouldn't move. Finally she darted when the men with a catch pole came out. He wore a gray jumpsuit with the word Joe written on a patch. He was youngish, maybe in his mid 20's. He had dark brown hair. Smiling he wrapped the catch pole around Skokie's neck and attempted to break the wood around it's neck. When Joe tried to get close, Skokie became a snarling mess biting at his hands. That was when the man noticed that Skokie was indeed wild. The wild green that shown proved that Skokie had a wild bone in it.
After a while, Joe broke the wood enough the get Skokie out of the hole, and pulled him inside with he catch pole. From there It was muzzled and pricked with needles and put in to a small cage in the back. It watched a table where dogs went back and would get pricked with needles. After a while the men would have to decide what to do with the wolf dog they had caught. There were only two things on Skokie's mind. A. Get out and help Animate and B. To be free and get out of there.
The next time Joe went to feed Skokie, Skokie leapt out at him biting his nose. From there Skokie lept off his face and ran for the door in a bolt. The dog ran through the door and through the rows of barking dogs, who tried to antagonize it. Skokie barked with happiness until a large woman blocked it's way. Stopping in a sudden swoosh, Skokie looked at her with all four paws firm, teeth raised nostrils flaring. One thing stopped it from getting out that door and she was not going to keep Skokie from getting out. Smiling she pulled out a gun and aimed the barrel at it's face. Running the other direction, Skokie missed the shots the lady began to fire off. A loud angry voice came from a door. There was sunlight coming front his door! Skokie ran for it. " Dont let him out!" the lady with the gun screamed. By that time Skokie was under her legs and bolting for freedom.
Moments later Skokie howled for it's sister. No response came and a worry grew over it. Would it have to return to that wretched place? Did Animate still think that Skokie was inside? When the sun set, Skokie ran back. Smells of dogs flooded its nose. Around the back hiding behind the dumpsters, it found Animate. Nuzzling Animate with such happiness, Skokie was ecstatic to have its sister back. Shortly after, they ran together, and they ran far. For a while they scavenged and ran free chasing down food and going where they wanted, until they found a sacred little place were very little could hurt them. Skokie claimed a rock that overlooked a valley where a farmhouse, barn and grain tower were. Behind that were tall hills and mountains. Along the valley was a creek that flowed along. Skokie and Animated called this home and still do today.
All of the employees were fired, especially farmer Joe who now lives across from Skokie's den. He only lives there from May to September in order to feed his cattle. From time to time he finds Skokie and tries to shoot at the pack because of fear that they will attempt to take down his cattle. Boy is he wrong!

Skokie and Naomi
Skokie and Naomi have been mates for a long time now. They met one day when Skokie and animate were running through the forest, chasing prey down. They ran into each other (literally), and decided to start a pack. The full story will be posted later.
